Studio Garonne is breathtaking. I spent two weeks here in April 2019 with my daughter on an art residency and had the most fantastic time. The location is stunning and the family who run the studio were generous, kind and worked tirelessly to make my stay there as productive as possible. I made some of my most advanced works here, the passion of the owners and all the other artists there is contagious. If you get the opportunity, go here and experience the magic of the people, the place and the food! Thank you Studio Garonne. From Scarlet and Frida.

I was lucky enough to spend 2 weeks in Studio Garonne on a creative retreat. It’s the most amazing building that they have renovated themselves, in an incredible location in the foothills of the Pyrenees, run by a really warm and welcoming young family who are cultivating the PERFECT vibe for makers to get makey in. I am a musician and was working on new music in one of their creative spaces. I can’t wait to go back again and do more.

Studio Garonne is one of a kind. Accompanied by the roar of the river and the ever changing view of the Pyrenees mountains it is a studio perfect for artists of any specialism. The building is filled with creativity and is constantly evolving with each artist that passes through it’s doors. I was fortunate enough to do two residencies here and by the end did not want to leave. As an artist without a working studio – I was able to really make use of the scale of the building, working both in the large balcony studio, within the surrounding landscapes and in a smaller more contained studio when I wanted to consolidate and really focus my ideas. Jamie, Izzy and their daughter Frida are super positive and lovely hosts, always happy to accommodate ideas and make you feel at home. Highly recommend to all artists that get the opportunity! Cant wait to go back!

I feel tremendously lucky to have stayed for two weeks at Studio Garonne in August 2019. This is a wonderful place.

Studio Garonne is a beautiful, creative place full of love, inspiration and interesting nooks and crannies! I was lucky enough to spend two weeks here with my partner on a creative residency. The building is inspiring, as is the energy that Jamie and Izzy (and Frida!) are investing into it to bring it back to life; I can’t wait to see it get even more amazing as they develop the spaces. It is based in a really interesting little village, with a tasty bakery just around the corner, surrounded by beautiful mountains falling away into the horizon, and a wide slow river slowly trundeling past. Just writing about it makes me want to go back! Many thanks! Bethan x
